Sometimes, I reckon I have magical qualities. Sadly, I’ve never managed to wield those qualities at will.
A thousand years ago, I watched a film, as one does. That film intrigued me, as I felt I had experienced similar events myself. The protagonist, not realising it at first, had the uncanny ability to bring to life the thoughts swirling in his mind. It was only when those thoughts played out dramatically in front of his eyes that he realised what was happening and the devastating power he apparently possessed. Whenever he became angry about something and envisioned a dramatic outcome, like a teacher he disliked smashing his car, it seemed to come true. That day, right after school, he saw his teacher walking to his car, jumped in, mistook the brake for the accelerator, and crashed into a wall, resulting in a tragic outcome.
No, I’m not suggesting I possess anything like that. My magical ability appears to be much subtler—hardly noticeable, more like accidental occurrences. However, it appears that some elements of my book have come to life in the real world.
All those thoughts crossed my mind, but not while I was writing my book; it was only after a billionaire became president in January 2025 and significantly shook up politics in the process that I noticed some parallels to my book. Even more striking was that a second billionaire added politics to his portfolio of successes, someone very familiar with AI and robotics.
How is it possible for a similar scenario to unfold in my new book before I even knew it would happen in reality?
Does that mean I have magical powers? Unfortunately, I must conclude: no. However, it’s quite amusing that my book, set ten years into the future, could just as easily be the present.
How does all of this relate to my book, you may wonder? Without revealing too much and spoiling the excitement, I’ll simply say that in my book, a billionaire who is also a technical whizz is stirring up chaos, but in a completely different context—much sneakier and, as a result, more dangerous. Political intervention, AI, robots, and androids come into play.
The book Certified Human can be described as a sci-fi crime novel or futuristic crime fiction. The main thing to remember is that it’s fiction. Have I, with my magic, unintentionally created a scenario that begins to play out before our very eyes? - Unlikely :-)
And here is the good news: Certified Human has been published!
That’s definitely a joyful occasion. If you’d like to make me even happier, pop over to Amazon, grab a copy, and for an extra dose of joy, please leave a lovely review once you’ve read it. :-)

What else does the book cover?
As I mentioned, the timing couldn’t be better; however, it was written long before Trump and Elon stoked political tensions. Still, the question, “Do billionaires have too much power?” is woven into the narrative.
Set in Australia in 2033, we follow Blake Newcome, an investigative journalist who experiences a shocking awakening. What he perceives through sight and sound no longer matches reality. Society has been quietly infiltrated by machines that imitate human appearance and behaviour.
We’re already being deceived by AI, robots, and now by androids.
Blake springs into action, assembling a dream team of mates to unravel the mystery behind the unfolding events and, more crucially, uncover who is orchestrating them. He encounters the Zookeeper, a cunning mastermind with a sinister agenda who is pulling people into a false utopia—a psychopath vying for world domination.
It is totalitarianism, not by force but by happiness. This ingenious concept threatens the personal freedoms and autonomy of every individual. Worse, in Canberra, the Prime Minister is taking advantage of the situation to get re-elected.
Certified Human will ignite your imagination and provoke deep thoughts about the future of humanity. But here’s the kicker: this dystopian reality isn’t just a flight of fancy. It’s happening right now!
